Tell us a bit about yourself….

Hi. I’m Zamra Dollskin from Dollskin Designs. I make custom latex clothing & accessories here in Dallas, TX.

As you have grown within your talent, what inspires you to create?

I’m always up to push myself into trying new things. My customers are a great source of inspiration, as well as my own imagination 🙂

How long have you been producing your craft and why did you begin this form of expression?

I’ve been working with latex clothing for almost 5 years now. I fell in love with latex from modeling it but could find anything really unique, & couldn’t afford custom work. I’ve always liked making my own clothes so I gave latex a try, and I love it!

What do you ultimately want to accomplish with your talent?

I would like to make a living making beautiful clothing that makes any size or gender or customer truly happy.

Outside of your artistry, what other interests do you have?

When I’m not making latex I model it, as well as other alternative styles. I’m also an alt burlesque & fetish performer & incorporate fire eating & play piercing into my acts.

What was your first experience with ArtLoveMagic?

This is my first official experience 😛

What web address can one go to to view more of what you do?

facebook.com/zamra.dollskin is my personal page with an album dedicated to my latex work. You can also search for Dollskin Designs as a page (and be sure to ‘like’ it!)

Miss Violet O’Hara is my name, and I’m on a mission to give you “an odd little thrill” during your entertainment experience. As an emcee, I’ve entertained thousands and have copious experience in hosting grand scale as well as intimate events including festivals, burlesque productions, private parties, weddings, charity benefits, pin up pageants, fashion shows, art receptions and vaudevillian variety productions. My style is energetic, my laughter infectious and my language oftentimes scandalous! I’m a top-notch professional based in Dallas, Texas. My attention to detail and organizational prowess enhance every production I am involved with. Let my energetic effervescence add magic and merriment to your entertainment experience!

As you have grown within your talent, what inspires you to create?

The caliber of local and national talent in the burlesque scene is a constant inspiration to continue to learn and grow as a performer.

How long have you been producing your craft and why did you begin this form of expression?

I first discovered the local burlesque scene in 2006 and hit the stage in the Fall of 2009. The creativity, diversity and spectacle of this form of live performance art is thrilling and interacting with a live audience is very rewarding.

What do you ultimately want to accomplish with your talent?

My aspirations as an emcee are to continue expanding my repertoire of hosting to include more pageants, art receptions, fashion shows burlesque festivals and private functions both nationally and internationally.

Outside of your artistry, what other interests do you have?

Spending face to face time with my close circle is vital to my quality of life, so I spend a lot of my free time with them. Traveling, reading and movies are also pleasurable pastimes.

What was your first experience with ArtLoveMagic?

In 2010, I had the pleasure of attending both Underground and Girl Show. Both of these events were very enjoyable and introduced me to many artists that I still follow today.

Tell us a bit about yourself….

We are The Burlesque Experience Starlets, burlesque dancers who completed The Burlesque Experience and decided we wanted more!

As you have grown within your talent, what inspires you to create?

Just about anything…certain songs that move us, movies, costume pieces, themes for burlesque shows, a certain emotion to express. The possibilities are endless – life itself, and everything in it, is inspiration.

How long have you been producing your craft and why did you begin this form of expression?

The Starlets formed just about a year ago. We performed at The Burlesque Experience BUST-OUT on 7/22/11. It was our “graduation” from a 6 week burlesque class that taught us every aspect of performing burlesque. We were so psyched after our performance, a group of 5 ladies from the class, along with creator/director/producer Lisa Carmen of Sacred Sexy U, formed The Burlesque Experience Starlets to continue performing in our own productions. We each began burlesque for different reasons: building self-confidence, getting in touch with our sexuality and sensuality again, learning to accept our bodies just as they are, or just because we like burlesque. We each came into the experience with a different knowledge of what burlesque was and how it came to be, but soon enough learned plenty!

What do you ultimately want to accomplish with your talent?

The goal of The Burlesque Experience Starlets is to create a safe place for all women who have been through The Burlesque Experience to continue to perform. We are striving for an organized framework to provide acceptance, love, and creativity in a nurturing environment. That is what allows for the authenticity in our performances – we have heart and soul. We believe, and have been told, that shines through in our performance.

Outside of your artistry, what other interests do you have?

Since we are a group of diverse women, we have diverse interests. Some of us are creative outside of burlesque, some are spiritual, some are tech-y. We have nurses, teachers, home makers, marketers, soul-searchers, life coaches, business people, and entrepreneurs…and just about anything else you could imagine.

What was your first experience with ArtLoveMagic?

This is our first experience with ArtLoveMagic, and we are so excited about it! Our executive director Zenda LaBelle was part of girlShow a few years back, selling and making jewelry. She is thrilled to be a part of girlShow yet again!
